Advanced Paint Calculator 🎨
Easily calculate the amount of paint required for your project.
The settings here apply to all areas you enter below. If there are different types of surfaces, it’s recommended to calculate them separately.

It’s recommended to keep a margin for touch-ups (10%-15%).
Enter all areas to be painted in square meters (sqm). You can add different walls and rooms.
Surface Paint Consumption Calculator: How to calculate how many liters you need for the whole house?
When painting several different areas — for example, living room, bedrooms, hallway, doors, or cabinets — the main question is how much paint to buy in total. This calculator allows you to add several areas in square meters (sqm), sum them up, and produce a clear estimate based on the surface type, paint type, painting method, and number of coats.
Why calculate multiple areas together?
- Time saving: Buy paint once instead of returning to the store in the middle of the work.
- Budget accuracy: Know in advance how many buckets/liters are needed.
- Work management: Easier to divide tasks by rooms and still remain with the right amount of paint.
What affects the amount of paint?
Paint consumption depends not only on the area but also on the absorbency and texture (rough wall/untreated wood), the paint type (water/oil/epoxy), and the painting method (roller/brush/spray). Therefore, the calculator uses adjustment factors to provide a more realistic estimate.
Tips for a more accurate result
- Measure areas neatly: Length × Height for each wall and sum up.
- Choose the right number of coats: usually 2 coats, and in sharp color transitions maybe 3.
- Leave a safety margin: 10%–15% is standard for touch-ups and finishes.

Important to know: The result is an estimate only. It is always recommended to round up according to common paint packaging and leave a remainder for future touch-ups. The tool runs only in the browser and without saving data on the server.
